Ali Akbar Velayati, Secretary General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening and the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's advisor on international affairs made the remarks during a key speech at the closing ceremony of international summit of Muslim world university professors in Tehran.
Velayati highlighted that boosting Islamic unity has been a key element in Iran’s domestic and foreign diplomacy.
Earlier scholars attending the meeting highlighted that the current wave of the Islamic Awakening across the Muslim world has been inspired by the Islamic revolution and the late Imam Khomeini’s precious thought and unique leadership.
Velayati also called for resistance against enemies of Islam in the region and underscored Muslim unity as the most important concern.
“Of course we distinguish between Muslim and non-Muslim governments, because preserving Islamic unity is our most important concern,” he said.
A large number of scholars and university professors from across the globe maintained during the summit that how the distinctive leadership and thought of the great Imam Khomeini could help the Islamic and oppressed nations to determine their democratic and progressive future.
