Professor Hasan Askari Rizvi in an interview with IRNA said that Imam Khomeini’s message for the unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah was responsible for giving strength to the notion that Muslims must unite to stand for their rights.
The analyst said that Imam Khomeini inspired Iranians of all political orientation to unify under the banner of Islamic Revolution and topple the pro-American oppressive regime of Shah.
“He also provided the broad guidelines of the transformation that took place after the Islamic Revolution,” said the intellectual.
Expressing his views, the analyst said that Imam Khomeini's guidance in the first ten years consolidated pillars of the Islamic Revolution and reached to the common people.
“His continued presence was not only a psychological strength for the Iranian believes, but also an anchor for the Iranian nation,ˈ said Dr. Hasan Askari Rizvi.
He went on to say that Imam Khomeini inspired Muslims all over the world by showing that Islam can be basis of a positive change and revolutionize people on Islamic lines.
“His continuous support to the Palestinian cause strengthened the cause and encouraged the Muslim states to be more forthright in supporting the Palestinians against Zionistˈs occupation and oppression,” said the intellectual.
The scholar added that Imam Khomeini’s revolution inspired the Muslims in Pakistan irrespective of denominational differences.
“Major Islamic movements in Pakistan have viewed the Islamic Revolution as a positive development and all these movements in their own ways became more politically active to implement Islam in Pakistan,” he added.
The analyst said that Imam Khomeini’s movement gave rise to what is described as Islamic resurgence in Pakistan.
