The great Imam called for the one-billion Muslims and oppressed nations to get unite against aggressions of Zionism and colonial powers and throw their weight behind the nation of Palestine.
These rallies have left great positive political impact, raised awareness about the sufferings of Palestinian people, and made the nations aware of the atrocities being committed by the Zionist regime and its backers.
The occasion is observed each year on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. The day was designated by the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, over three decades ago as the Quds Day.
