Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic has hailed and praised the courageous operation carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that it was a source of our pride for the nation.
The operation was successfully carried out after the Zionist entity attacked consular section of the Iranian Embassy in the Syria capital Damascus in early April.
In a statement released on Sunday, His Eminence Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that he considered that Iran's confrontation with the usurping Zionist entity had become a necessity due to the enemy's arrogance, miscalculations and wrong estimations.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini further stressed that the operation was a strategic decision to demonstrate national pride, authority and security.
“Today, it was necessary that we should all be proud of our national strength and be united to confront external threats by relying on our beloved public masses, who represent the most important components of our power,” he stated.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini congratulated the leader of the Islamic revolution and the Iranian armed forces on this courageous operation.
I congratulate the leader of the revolution and our dear Mujahideen on this courageous operation.
He concluded by saying that it were Imam, who inspired our people with the spirit of self-confidence and dignity, and the righteous martyrs who were the pioneers of such a right path.
The Israeli attack on Iranian Consulate in Damascus resulted in the martyrdom of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five of their accompanying officers.
Retaliating against the attack, the IRGC targeted the occupied territories late on Saturday with a barrage of drones and missiles.
The retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation True Promise, has inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied territories, but the extent of which is yet to be specified.
