Once a prominent scholar and figure suggested that it would be great if Imam accepted the Shah’s proposal to hold a direct meeting or seating with him. In this manner, Imam could also demand the then regime to address the seminaries concerns and seek more rights for religious communities.
But Imam roundly and vehemently rejected the proposal and instead preferred to suffer from prison difficulties.
Imam had snubbed Shah’s request to hold any meeting with him or any of Shah regime’s agents.
Imam made clear that Shah had been humailiated a lost any credibility among the public masses and was of no value anymore.
Imam’s untriring stuggle led the collapse of Shah regime in 1979 and cut meddling by foreign powers in Iran.
