Bakhtiar regime couldn’t block Imam Khomeini’s return to homeland

A memoir by Imam’s son Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini

It has been recalled through a series of memoirs that the Bakhtiar regime which had been a kind of a puppet regime of Shah had desperately attempted to block Imam’s historic return to homeland in 1979.

To implement its vicious plan, the Bakhtiar regime had closed the airports across the country for several days to hinder Imam’s arrival from exile.

Despite all obstacles, on a historic day, the airplane carrying Imam and his fellows and over 150 foreign journalists landed at Mehrabad Airport.

Following Imam’s arrival, Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini, imam’s son and revolutionary supporters had played great role in protecting Imam until Imam formed a transitional government.

Imam established a democratic Islamic system which not only brought about prosperity for the Iranian nation, but also changed balance of power in the interest of Muslims in the region.
