Aliyev said Baku’s relations with the Islamic Republic “have developed in an upward trend significantly” over the past years.
“The numerous reciprocal trips, signed documents, joint projects, including the successful activity of the Joint Commission of the two countries of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan, play an important role in expanding our relations,” he added.
“I believe that amicable relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are based on mutual respect and good neighborliness, will be developed in accordance with the interests of our countries and will help strengthen stability and security in the South Caucasus,” said the Azeri leader.
Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also sent a message to President Rouhani, saying that this government was ready to expand bilateral relations with Tehran.
Mirziyoyev pointed to the historical and cultural links and traditional friendship between his country and Iran as the firm foundations of the relationship between the two nations.
In a separate message to Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov congratulated Iran on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon also congratulated his Iranian counterpart on the Revolution’s anniversary, wishing prosperity, health, success, and peace for the Iranian nation.
President Rahmon expressed his country’s willingness to boost relations with Tehran.
He said he believed that the cordial ties, rooted in historical and cultural commonalities, between Dushanbe and Tehran would further develop in the future.
Also, the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a congratulatory message to President Rouhani.
So did Emirati Vice-President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In Turkey, the exterior facade of Atakule Tower in the capital, Ankara, was illuminated in the colors of Iran’s flag on Tuesday to celebrate the occasion.
Each year on the 22nd of the month of Bahman on the Persian calendar, Iran celebrates the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
