Marnarsay Binjamin, the spiritual leader of Iran’s Assyrian Christian said that Imam had brought about a peaceful life for the country’s minorities.
All Iranians including minorities owe to Imam Khomeini, who believed that all Christians Jews and Zoroastrians can live along their Muslim brothers peacefully, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Binjamin stressed that they had gathered at holy mausoleum of Imam to announce that the late founder of Islamic Republic had not only been Imam of Muslims, but he was also leader of the all followers of divine religions.
He said that Christians would attend upcoming 28th anniversary of Imam Khomeini's heavenly Departure.
Each Year, Millions of Iranians take part in ceremonies across the nation to mourn the anniversary of the passing away of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution.
A large numbers of mourners across various parts of the country and the world converge on the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in southern Tehran to pay their tributes.
Hundreds of foreign guests, including scholars and researchers, also attend the ceremonies.
Imam Khomeini, the leader of contemporary Muslim world, passed away on June 3, 1989.
