The closing ceremony of 30th Tehran International Book Fair has been held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
Latest edition of Tehran International Book Fair has come to an end on May 13 in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
The closing ceremony, which was attended by Deputy Culture Minister for Cultural Affairs Abbas Salehi, Italian Cultural Attaché Carlo Cereti and a number of Iranian officials and publishers, was held at at Shahr-e Aftab International Exhibition Complex on Saturday.
Millions of visitors, including thousands of university students, scholars and their families attended the 30th edition of the event over the past 10 days.
Tehran book exhibition has been turned into a well-established annual cultural event in the Middle East over the past few years.
International department of the institute had set up a special stall where Imam Khomeini’s works were exhibited in foreign languages.
Imam Khomeini's theological works and books were widely welcomed by scholars, intellectuals and visitors from various walks of life.
Dr. Mohammad Moghaddam, the head of the international department also visited the stall to personally know the progress being made and brief the staff and audience.
Imam Khomeini’s works cover a range of discipline of knowledge including philosophy, mysticism, jurisprudence, Quranic and Hadith sciences and Literature and poetry.
In recent years, dozens of Imam’s works have been translated into several languages and also available in digital forms on CDs and diskettes.
Imam Khomeini, the leader of contemporary Muslim world, left an enriched academic legacy by writing several theological works.
Several of Imam’s works are being exhibited at the regional and international exhibitions, kept in libraries around the globe and have become part of curriculum of reputed universities.
About 3,000 publishers including 139 foreign companies from 110 countries had put their books on display in an area of 135,000 square meters.
