The religious and spiritual gathering was co-organized by the Iranian Cultural Center and the Imam Khomeini Conference Committee.
According to Mohsen Abutalebi, Iran’s cultural attaché in Australia, people from different nationalities, including Indian, Kenyan, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Australian and Iranian, were at attendance during the gathering.
The cultural attaché added that a number of academic and scholars delivered speeches in the program. The intellectual touched upon various aspects of the life and character of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The cultural attaché also noted that Imam Khomeini and foreign policy, revival of Islamic identity by Imam Khomeini, and politics and religion in view of Imam were among the themes of the lectures.
Iran’s Arabic language channel Al-Alam and and Beirut basted al-Manar television networks covered the event.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989 at the age of 87 after reviving divine and spiritual values on sensitive juncture of the history. Rouhollah Mousavi Khomeini was born in the central Iranian city of Khomein on September 24, 1902 to a family of scholars.
Every year on this occasion of Imam’s passing away anniversay, millions of devotees from across Iran as well as freedom-seeking people around different parts of the globe pay tribute to the late founding leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The victory of the Islamic Revolution under wise leadership of Imam Khomeini 1979 culminated in the overthrow of the US-backed monarchy, and the establishment of the Islamic-democratic system changed the balance of power in the interests of the entire Muslim world and the oppressed nations.
