London set to host summit on Imam Khomeini

The international summit on thought and ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held in the British capital in early June.

The summit will be organized with the efforts of the Islamic Center of England in early June to mark the 27the passing away anniversary Imam Khomeini.

Imam Khomeini passed away on June 03, 1989 and departed heavenly after reviving divine, moral and spiritual values at the sensitive juncture of history.  

The one-day international event, slated to be held on June 04 will highlight the status of women form viewpoint of Imam Khomeini.

Academics, thinks and Muslim scholars from various parts of the world are scheduled to address the event and shed light on Imam Khomeini’s thought in this regard.

Some of prominent speakers include Head of the Islamic Center of England Mohammad Ali Shomali, Muhammad Jalal Fairooz from Bahrain, Abbas Di Palma from Italy, women’s rights activist Zahra al-Alawi, as well as Rodney Shakespeare, a renowned political commentator and lecturer at Jakarta’s Trisakti University.

Several pundits maintain that Imam Khomeini raised status of women and restored their dignity following the victory of the Islamic Revolution under this wise leadership in 1979.

The Islamic Revolution strengthened the entire Muslim world and the oppressed nations.
