Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei has paid tributes to the founder of the Islamic Republic by paying visit to his holy mausoleum.
The supreme leader visited the holy shrine of Imam Khomeini on Saturday morning.
The leader was warmly welcomed by Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the Imam and the guardian of the shrine.
The visit comes on the eve of the 37th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The supreme leader also paid a visit to shrines of martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the imposed war launched by the then Iraqi dictator against Iran.
The Islamic Revolution emerged victorious under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini with massive public support and backing in 1979.
Iran made a great amount of progress following the victory of the revolution in all fields and perspectives.
It is worth to mention that Imam Khomeini's holy shrine which is located on the outskirts of the Iranian capital has become center of relgious, cultural and social activities in recent year.
The site is visited by thousands of pilgrims, devotees, academics and tourists from Iran and across various parts of the world.
