A former Iranian cultural minister said in recent remarks that the artists and positive aspects of cinema industry were supported and promoted after the Islamic revolution emerged victorious under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1979.
Masjid Jamee'i, the former cultural minister added that music and cinema were not widely welcomed among traditional society and the religious people at that sensitive juncture of history.
The former minister said that Imam convinced the society, relevant authorities and public masses to standby the artists in order to promote the positive perspectives of music, art and cinema.
Jamee'i noted that a large number of religious people had not a positive look at cinema industry in the beginning unless Imam expressed his support and emphasized on highlighting positive perspectives of these branches of art.
It is noteworthy that Iranian TV channels and cinema produced very good movies and drama serials over the past decades.
Several movies and documentary movies were produced to highlight the events of the Islamic Revolution and occurrences of the imposed war ---holy defense—which was waged against Iran by former Iraqi dictator Saddam and some other colonial powers.
It is noteworthy that Iranian cinema now holds great status and several of the Iranian artists and movies have earned reputation and won international awards at world festival during the recent years, the former minister concluded.
Imam led the Islamic Revolution which brought prosperity for Iran and other oppressed nations during later years.
