Parvaneh Mafi made remarks during a special meeting of women committee that is tasked with holding intellectual and academic events on the sidelines of upcoming anniversary of heavenly departure of Imam Khomeini in early June.
She also emphasized on importance of highlighting and introducing imam’s dynamic thought on women rights and status.
The Islamic revolution under wise leadership of Imam Khomeini raised women society and encouraged them to take an active part in all arenas of life. The founder of the Islamic Republic blessed the women with their rights and elevated their status in the society.
The women largely contributed to scientific, academic and social progress of the country following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
The issue of women status and rights becomes even more significant as Iran has recently held an international summit in honor of Imam Khomeini's late wife, Khadijah Thaqafi, known as Quds-Iran. The senior government officials were present at the ceremony.
Imam Khomeini’s spouse has been remained an intelligent backer and aide to the founder of the Islamic Republic throughout the history of the Revolution.
Parvaneh Mafi also noted that a contest on biography of Lady Khadijah Thaqafi will also be held and wide-range participants are expected to participate in the event.
The committees assigned with various tasks would make best use of previous years to make the anniversary more useful to introduce Imam’s dynamic thought and genuine teachings.
Several intellectual and women are included hundreds of foreign guests who would be attending the religious and cultural programs on the occasion of this year’s anniversary.
