Maintaining amicable ties and communication with all nations and other governments has been a sensible principle in Imam Khomeini's dynamic system of thought and basic pillar of the Islamic Republic.
In this regard, no diplomatic ties were established with Israeli entity because the regime had been based in the occupied Palestinian territories and continues to oppress the Palestinian nation.
The Islamic Republic also didn’t maintain ties with South Africa at the time due to the racist political system and its apartheid policy in the African country.
However, some years later, Iran established diplomatic mission in South Africa after a democratic changes under the leadership of Nelson Mandela there.
